Anthony & Taylor’s Romantic Wedding at Atlanta History Center
Nestled in the heart of Atlanta’s Buckhead district, the Atlanta History Center provided the perfect setting for Anthony and Taylor’s timeless and romantic wedding.
Surrounded by lush gardens and historical grandeur, their celebration was nothing short of magical. From their deeply personal love story to the breathtaking design, every detail reflected their journey and vision for their perfect day.
A Love Story
Anthony and Taylor’s love story began on a picture-perfect summer day in 2016, with a bouquet of white and blue flowers, Anthony asked Taylor out on a date. Their connection blossomed through college, and after six years of shared love and adventure, Anthony proposed. Against the breathtaking scenery of a waterfall at the top of Vail Pass in Keystone, Colorado, surrounded by wildflowers, Anthony asked Taylor to be his forever.
Their relationship thrives on balance—Taylor’s passion meets Anthony’s steady calm, making them the perfect pair. Their journey is filled with adventure, unwavering support, and the excitement of growing together.
The Venue: Atlanta History Center
Choosing the Atlanta History Center was an easy decision for the couple. Its rich history, European-inspired architecture, and stunning gardens created the romantic atmosphere they envisioned.
Their ceremony took place on the Swan House lawn, where the cascading fountains and manicured greenery set an elegant scene. Statement arrangements adorned the steps of glistening historic Swan House fountain and a large flower meadow was placed in front, providing the perfect picturesque background for the couple to say ‘I do’. Adding to the ambiance, the Etude Entertainment’s renowned string quartet serenaded guests, making the ceremony even more magical and enchanting.
Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed to Olguita’s Garden for mocktail hour, where Bold Events offered passed hors d’oeuvres and a curated mocktail bar reflecting Anthony & Taylor’s favorite flavors. Guests enjoyed the beautiful sunshine as they explored the garden and took advantage of the gorgeous photo opportunities.
Once Taylor and Anthony had finished newlywed photographs, guests were welcomed to the reception in Atlanta History Center’s Grand Overlook Ballroom. As guests were treated to an array of different flavors and cultures upstairs, the couple enjoyed a private dining experience in a secluded area before rejoining their loved ones for an unforgettable evening of celebration.
Carefully Curated Design
From the very first planning meeting, Taylor’s vision was crystal clear - she wanted the day to radiate timeless elegance with a classic, yet romantic, white and blue color palette - a credit to the bouquet Anthony had given her on their first date.
To accomplish Taylor’s vision, floral designs were crafted from a display of exquisite white roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, hydrangea and chrysanthemums and incorporating delphiniums and tweedia to provide a hint of light blue.
Elegant tablescapes provided by Vintage English Teacup and Atlanta Vintage Glassware featured white and gold scalloped chargers, blue-patterned china, gold flatware, blue glass goblets, and powder blue napkins.
Small details and accents were incorporated into the tablescapes with hand-made blue and white decoupage shells, custom-designed blue and white menus at each place setting, and a mass of romantic blue taper and floating candles.
Dinner and Dessert - a combination of cultural flavors
The buffet-style dinner, catered by Delbar, Taylor and Anthony’s favorite Atlanta restaurant, wowed guests with an abundance of thoughtfully curated Persian-inspired cuisine. The couple ensured that there was enough food to feed each of their guests several times over and also have enough to take home.
An assortment of signature cakes, provided by another favorite restaurant of the bride and groom - Alon’s Bakery, were on display, however, guests were also treated to an array of the Groom’s favorite prǎjituri - traditional cakes and desserts - from Romania.
Cherished Moments Together
Guests were mesmerized by the beauty of the venue and the heartfelt touches throughout the wedding. The combination of live music, delicious cuisine, and a perfectly curated atmosphere made for an unforgettable experience. Many described it as a wedding straight out of a fairytale.
One of the most emotional moments of the day came when Taylor, instead of tossing her bouquet, dedicated it to her mother. In a heartfelt speech, she expressed gratitude for her mother’s love and unwavering support, leaving guests in tears.
While guests enjoyed desserts, hopped in the photobooth, and conversed together, the bride and groom were whisked away to the lower level of Atlanta History Center, to the home of the vintage-style Coca-Cola Café for a quick photo shoot. Personalized “Mr. and Mrs.” Coca-Cola bottles were the perfect accompaniments for this highly entertaining escapade and the pictures captured the couple’s personalities and love for one another exquisitely.
A Spirited Sendoff
Family and friends gathered together outside of the Atlanta History Center with foam glow sticks in hand as they chanted, cheered, and applauded Taylor and Anthony’s marriage with tremendous excitement. The love shared for this beautiful young couple emanated throughout the crowd as they shared hugs and offered their well wishes, drawing this magical evening to a close.
Final Thoughts
Reflecting on their wedding day, Anthony & Taylor shared that it was everything they had dreamed of and more.
Their advice to future couples is to make time to take a private moment together to soak it all in—the day goes by way faster than you think!
As they embark on their next adventure together, they are grateful for the love, joy, and cherished memories created on their special day.
